Using the Provided AC Adapter
The HDK Base Unit has no power switch. To turn it on, simply plug in the provided power cable.
Once the power cable is in, the PWR LED light will turn on, indicating the HDK Base Unit is on.*
Using Your Own Power Supply
You can use your own power supply. The Base Unit is rated for 5-32 V with the use of a 2.5 mm jack.
*There is a known issue where the LED light on some units does not turn on. This will be resolved in the next OTA update.
The I/O connector allows for up to two RS422 devices, two 12 V devices, and an External Trigger.

Connecting I/O
Ensure the I/O device is powered off when connecting or disconnecting to prevent ESD events. This can be done either by unplugging the HDK Base Unit or by using a command. If unplugging the unit, make sure the LED Power Indicator is off.*
Then rotate to the front.
*There is a known issue where the LED light on some units does not turn on. This will be resolved in the next OTA update.
The Sol3 HDK Base Unit does not need to be connected to the internet to operate. SDK updates are performed over the air when internet connectivity is available.

Note: The Base Unit does not need to be powered off to connect or disconnect the Ethernet cable.
The USB-3 host allows connection with external, peripheral hardware.
